Alan Wright

I started working as a lawyer in 1990.

Since then, I have almost exclusively worked in family law. I became an Accredited Specialist in Family Law in 1997.

In all that time, I have believed that it is best to come to a reasonable, early resolution (acknowledging that, sometimes, this isn’t possible). The court process is expensive, slow and stressful. Coming to a resolution allows you to get on with life. I always worked hard to help my clients come to a resolution.

Mediation is a great way of trying to come to a resolution. I attended many mediations as a lawyer. I always enjoyed attending mediations and went to mediation optimistic about coming to a resolution.

I eventually realised that I could make a contribution by being a mediator. In 2018, I did a mediation course with the Resolution Institute. In 2019 I became an accredited mediator under the National Mediation Accreditation System. Since then, I have conducted many mediations. In 2022, I became accredited as a family dispute resolution practitioner (FDRP).

I remain passionate about helping people come to a resolution. I have stopped working as a solicitor. I now work only as a mediator/FDRP.

If you are a solicitor, I hope that I can help your client. If you are someone working your way through the issues that follow separation, I hope that I can help you to reach a resolution.
